Celebrity Baby Names 2008
Celebrity baby names in 2008 once again included a bumper crop of baby names that fascinated the public. Without question, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz's choice for their son, Bronx Mowgli, was the most controversial. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale managed to shake things up with their chosen name for their second son, Zuma Nesta Rock. The award for the most admired celebrity baby name of the year, if there were such an award, would probably have gone to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, who gained broad approval for picking the name Harlow Winter Kate for their daughter. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony named their twins Max and Emme, while Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie went for Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline. Jessica Alba's daughter was named Honor Marie, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban went for Sunday Rose, while Halle Berry and boyfriend Gabriel Aubry chose Nahla Ariela for their daughter.
All told, the list contains an eclectic mix of celebrity baby names, ranging from the very unusual to the very traditional. The public, without whom there would be no celebrity watching, seemed to approve of unusual names as long as they weren't too strange. But mostly, people still seem to favor the more traditional.
