Crispin is a variant of the name Crispus, meaning "curly-haired". In the bible, Crispus was a Corinthian who became a convert of St. Paul. The 3rd century martyr St. Crispin is known as patron of shoemakers. St. Crispin's Day was immortalized in Shakespeare's Henry V, in the king's speech before the battle of Agincourt.
